Northwest Airlines (NWA) appeals from a judgment of the District Court1 declaring certain of its personnel policies violative of the Equal Pay Act of 19632 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 19643 and granting injunctive and monetary relief. The principal practice in issue here is the payment to women employed as stewardesses of salaries lower than those paid to men serving as pursers for work found by the court to be substantially equal.
