Zollars, J. —

Appellant brought this action to recover damages resulting from a personal injury received at the stave factory of appellees.

The evidence tends to establish the following facts: Appellees, at the time of and prior to the injury of appellant, were the owners of a stave factory, the machinery of which was propelled by steam-power. An iron shaft, about two inches in diameter, extended horizontally from the factory building and connected with, and furnished the means of operating, a pump which supplied water for the boiler.
