The defendant, the city of Hartford, appeals 1 from the judgment of the trial court awarding the plaintiff, Robert Murtha, $562,277.50 in an indemnification action brought pursuant to General Statutes (Rev. to 2009) § 53-39a. 2 On appeal, the defendant claims that the judgment of the trial court ordering the defendant to reimburse the plaintiff $460,613.40 in attorney’s fees was improper because the fees were not actually incurred by the plaintiff and were excessive.
