This case presents an appeal from an opinion and award of the North Carolina Industrial Commission (Commission). On 12 March 1979, plaintiff Irvin Frank Hill was injured in the course of his employment with defendant Hanes Corporation. In a written agreement reached among the parties on 18 April 1979, and in a supplemental agreement dated 18 December 1979, the defendants agreed to compensate Hill for temporary total disability for “necessary weeks.” Both agreements were filed with the Commis*69sion.
