This is an election contest, and involves the election of county superintendent of schools of the county of Albany at the general election held in 1894. Lizzie F. Sawin was the republican nominee and Sarah W. Pease was the nominee of the Democratic and People’s parties. The latter was declared elected, and within thirty days thereafter the plaintiff filed her petition in writing with the clerk of the district court of Albany County for the purpose of contesting the election.
