CARTER, Judge:

A military judge sitting as a general court-martial convicted appellant, pursuant to his pleas, of larceny and three specifications of making and uttering bad checks in violation of Articles 121 and 123a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 921 and 923a (1988)[hereinafter UCMJ].
