The plaintiffs, Larry Moon and Sherry Moon, appeal from the judgments of the trial court denying their two appeals from the decisions of the defendant, the zoning board of appeals (board) of the town of Madison (town). On appeal to this court, the plaintiffs claim that the trial court: (1) in the first case, improperly construed the town zoning regulations as requiring them to obtain a variance from the board before making certain improvements to their residence; and (2) in the second case, improperly determined that the board’s decision to deny their request for a…
