This appeal concerns a note and

mortgage, both executed February 8, 1930, by Charles and Lulu Van Doren, husband and wife, who are two of the three defendants. The payees of the note and the mortgagees of the other instrument are Casper Holzmeyer, one of the plaintiffs (to whom we shall refer as the plaintiff), and Johanna Holzmeyer, deceased wife of that plaintiff. The appeal also concerns a satisfaction and a release of the mortgage signed by the plaintiff May 17, 1940, and a deed signed by the two Van Dorens concurrently with the execution and delivery of the release.
