EFFRON, Judge:

In a contested general court-martial at Edwards Air Force Base, California, officer members convicted appellant of making a false official statement, wrongfully using and distributing cocaine, and wrongfully possessing marijuana, in violation of Articles 107 and 112a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 907 and 912a, respectively.1 They sentenced him to a dishonorable discharge, confinement for 3 years, total forfeitures, and reduction to the lowest enlisted grade.
