OPINION

BAKER, Judge.

Today we are called upon to construe the provisions of Indiana Code sections 31-14-20-2 and 81-19-4-6 regarding a man's duty to register as a putative father. 1 Appellant-respondent Joshua J. Mathews, the alleged biological father of KH., appeals the trial court's order entered in favor of the appellee-petitioner Adam C. Hansen regarding K.H.'s adoption. Specifically, Mathews urges that it was error to grant Hansen's motion to dismiss his challenge to the adoption decree entered by the trial court.
