On or about August 1, 1961, the defendants Dan E. Butcher, Inglewood Land Company and Gregg Construction Company were the owners of an unimproved parcel of real estate located in the City of Torrance, County of Los Angeles, California. During this period of time, defendant Gregg Construction Company desired to have the property excavated, graded and prepared for the construction of building sites.
