MacLAUGHLIN, District Judge.

This matter is before the Court on defendant’s motion for summary judgment. The Court will grant defendant’s motion. FACTS

Plaintiff James R. Griffin alleges that defendant American Motors Corp. wrongfully discharged him in violation of his employment contract. Plaintiff did not have an express written employment contract with defendant, rather, he alleges that a de facto contract of employment existed by virtue of defendant’s written manuals, policy statements and oral assurances.
