This case is a challenge to the constitutionality of our mechanic’s lien statutes as they affect the rights of general contractors. The plaintiff, General Electric Supply Company (hereinafter GESCO), brought an action to foreclose its mechanic’s lien on the real property of the defendant Southern New England Telephone Company (hereinafter SNETCO), naming as defendants SNETCO and other lienors.
