JOHNSON, Judge:

William Elder appeals from an order which granted summary judgment in favor of Nationwide Insurance Company. The issue presented in this appeal is whether 75 Pa.C.S. § 1714 bars recovery of first party benefits, as a matter of law, by a party who no longer owns a vehicle which nonetheless remained registered in that party’s name in Pennsylvania at the time of an accident from which the benefits claim arose.
