Defendant was convicted by a jury of perjury, MCL 750.423; MSA 28.665. He was sentenced to a term of nine months in jail, and appeals as of right.

Defendant was charged in a separate case with breaking and entering. He signed an affidavit of indigency and counsel was appointed to represent him.
