The defendants Salvatore Sapia and Marie Sapia (Sapias) appeal from the judgment of the trial court sustaining the appeal of the plaintiff Virginia Williams1 from the decision by the defendant zoning board of appeals of the town of Essex (board), which upheld the zoning enforcement officer’s granting of the Sapias’ application for a permit for residential renovations.
