RUDKIN, Circuit Judge.

While the original and amended complaints in this case contained a number of counts, there were but two causes of action in all. Stated in inverse order, one cause of action was for the recovery of the equivalent in American money of 15,000 piastres, advanced and paid out by the plaintiff for the use and benefit of the defendant and at its special instance and request; the other for the recovery of the purchase price of a quantity of sugar sold and delivered by the plaintiff to the defendant.
