The petitioner, Martin Hammond, appeals from the judgment of the habeas court dismissing his petition for writ of habeas corpus. The petitioner claims that the habeas court improperly concluded that *13he was not entitled to receive credit lor certain presentence confinement because the cases relied on by the habeas court, Johnson v. Manson, 196 Conn. 309, 493 A.2d 846 (1985), cert. denied, 474 U.S. 1063, 106 S. Ct. 813, 88 L. Ed. 2d 787 (1986), and Taylor v.
