This is a suit in equity to establish a roadway easement by prescription across defendants’ land. Defendants appeal from a decree declaring plaintiffs’ right to the asserted easement.

Plaintiffs and defendants own adjoining tracts of land in a rural part of Columbia County. Defendants’ property consists principally of a hay meadow and plaintiffs’ land is timberland. Plaintiffs harvest the timber from their land on a sustained yield basis. Neither party lives on the land or in the immediate area.
