SANDERS, Senior Judge:

Contrary to his pleas, appellant was convicted by a general court-martial of attempted rape, sodomy, assault, unlawful entry, indecent assault, and communicating threats, in violation of Articles 80, 125, 128, 130, and 134, respectively, of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), 10 U.S.C. §§ 880, 925, 928, 930, and 934. Officer and enlisted members awarded a sentence of confinement at hard labor for seven years, total forfeitures, reduction to pay grade E-l, and a bad-conduct discharge, which was approved on review below by the officer exercising general…
