The plaintiff, a building contractor, 42 years of age, while attempting to become a passenger in one of the elevators in the Penobscot building in Detroit, received severe injuries for which he obtained a verdict and judgment against the defendants in the sum of $18,000. A motion was made for a new trial, which was overruled. The case is brought here by writ of error.

The questions raised by appellant are:(1) It is the claim of defendant that it was prejudicial error for the trial judge, in the presence of the jury, to question defendant’s counsel as to the interest of a liability insurance…
