DAVIS, District Judge.

The plaintiff, Frederick Demby (“Demby”), has filed a four-count complaint against his employer, Preston Trucking Company, Inc. (“Preston”), alleging the following claims: hostile work environment on the basis of race and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e et seq.; companion discrimination claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1981; and pendent state law claims of negligent supervision and retention and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
