Plaintiff Hallie L. Wang is a Chinese-American woman who alleges that her former employer, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (“MetLife”), 1 discriminated against her on the basis of gender and race in derogation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended by the Civil Rights Act of 1991, 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000e, et seq. (“Title VII”), and 42 U.S.C. § 1981 (“Section 1981”).
