A jury found the defendant, Jose B. Melendez, guilty of two counts of sale of narcotics by a person who is not drug-dependent in violation of General Statutes § 21a-278 (b), 1 and two counts of sale of narcotics within 1500 feet of a licensed child day care center in violation of General Statutes § 21a-278a (b). 2 The trial court, Levin, J., rendered judgment in accordance with the jury verdict, 3 and the defendant appealed. 4 On appeal, the defendant claims that (1) the trial court violated his right to due process by denying his motion to compel the state to renew a plea…
