Defendant first contends the trial court erred in failing to set aside the entry of default. “For good cause shown the court may set aside an entry of default.” N.C. Gen. Stat. 1A-1, Rule 55(d). A motion pursuant to this rule to set aside an entry of default is addressed to the sound discretion of the court. Privette v. Privette, 30 N.C. App. 41, 226 S.E. 2d 188 (1976). Whether “good cause” is shown by movant, who bears the burden of proof, is in the sound discretion of the trial court and the facts and circumstances of the particular case govern. Whaley v.
