Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes § 52-572M et seq., Plaintiff Cynthia Perkins (“Ms.Perkins”) has brought a products liability action against defendant Origin Medsystems Inc. (“Origin”), the manufacturer of a surgical fastening device (“the Tacker”). 1 Ms. Perkins alleges that she has suffered injuries proximately caused by the use of the Tacker in her 1996 laparoscopic hernia operation.
