r Respondent brought suit to recover upon a promissory note dated October 19, 1882, made by S. C. Harris, D. T. Wheeler, Henry L. Yesler, John Leary and George W. Harris to M. Y. B. Stacy, arid endorsed by Stacy, without recourse. The complaint alleged that the respondent purchased the note in the ordinary course of business, on or about October 19, 1882, before maturity, for a valuable consideration.
