This is an action for damages arising out of negligently inflicted injuries to the person. Plaintiff and her mother were employed upon the night shift at a dehydration plant in Salem, Oregon. At about seven o’clock in the morning of December 14, 1943, they were being transported from the place of their employment toward their home, as guest passengers in an automobile driven by Roland Bair, a fellow employee.
