This is an appeal from an order of the Superior Court of Fresno County fixing the degree of the crime of which defendant stood convicted on a plea of guilty and from a judgment pronounced upon him.
On June 7, 1917, defendant and his wife, Anna Hammond, each entered a plea of guilty to an information charging murder. The trial court did not fix the degree of the crime, but sentenced Hammond to imprisonment for life in the state penitentiary at Folsom.
