Plaintiff Ann Brandau, a former employee of the State of Kansas, sued the State for hostile work environment and quid pro quo sexual harassment, retaliation, and constructive discharge under Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2(a)(l) to 2000e-17. She worked in the Adult Probation Division for the Twenty-*1181Ninth Judicial District of Wyandotte County, Kansas, and she sought twenty-one months’ back-pay and $50,000 in compensatory damages.
