In these two appeals, the defendant, David Zilkha, appeals from the judgment of the trial court denying his motion to modify the court's financial orders and his motion to open, both filed several years following the court's judgment dissolving his marriage to the plaintiff, Karen Zilkha. Because the two appeals arise from the same underlying case, we assess both of them in this combined opinion.
