Jacobs v. Regents of the Univ. of Cal.
California Court of Appeal, 5th District
1Opinion of the CourtAshmann-Gerst, Acting P.J.
*19The question presented is whether disabled members under the University of California Retirement Plan (UCRP) who receive "Duty Disability Income" (DDI) are considered retired for purposes of entitlement to a retired identification card and concealed weapons endorsement pursuant to the Penal Code. We conclude the answer is no. We therefore affirm the trial court's denial of the petition for writ of mandate by which appellants sought to compel The Regents of the University of California (Regents) to provide them with such identification cards and endorsements.
