EVERETT, Chief Judge:

Appellant was tried by general court-martial composed of a military judge alone at Rhein-Main Air Base, Federal Republic of Germany, in 1983. Contrary to his pleas, he was convicted of sodomy and indecent assault on a minor female, in violation of Articles 125 and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 925 and 934, respectively. He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, confinement for 6 years, total forfeitures, and reduction to *424the lowest enlisted grade.
