Charged with premeditated murder, in violation of Article 118, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 918, accused was tried by a general court-martial convened at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was convicted of the lesser offense of involuntary manslaughter, a violation of Article 119 of the Code, 10 USC § 919, and the court sen*547tenced him to dishonorable discharge, total forfeitures, confinement at hard labor for three years, and reduction.
