Appeal from the District Court of the United States for the Territory of Hawaii. Suit in admiralty by the Pacific Mail Steamship Company, as owner of the steamship Siberia, against the steam dredge Pacific, the North American Dredging Company, claimant. Decree for libelant, and claimant appeals.

HANFORD, District Judge (after stating the facts as above).

Responsibility for the mishap is by the libel charged to the Pacific on the assumed ground that the wire cable which was the implement of mischief belonged to her, and that it was negligently left attached to the anchor chain of the buoy, after it had been used in the operation of dredging the harbor of Honolulu. By its answer and throughout the litigation, the appellant has strenuously contended that the cable was not part of the Pacific’s equipment, and by disclaiming ownership of the line has sought to repel the charge.
