EFFRON, Judge:

Following a trial by officer and enlisted members sitting as a general court-martial on a specification alleging premeditated murder of his estranged wife, appellant was convicted of voluntary manslaughter. See Arts. 118 and 119, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 918 and 919, respectively. He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, confinement for 10 years, and reduction to the lowest enlisted grade.
