CURRIE, Judge:

A general court-martial composed of officers convicted appellant, contrary to his pleas, of unpremeditated murder and assault upon a child under sixteen years of age, in violation of Articles 118 and 128, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 918 and 928 [hereinafter UCMJ]. The convening authority approved the adjudged sentence of a dishonorable discharge, life imprisonment, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and reduction to the grade of Private El.
