Pursuant to a plea agreement, Norman Hall pleaded no contest to a felony charge of grand theft from a person (Pen. Code, § 487, subd. (c)), 1 admitted two prior felony convictions, and was sentenced to a five-year prison term. After Hall served a portion of his sentence, the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act (Proposition 47) reduced certain drug and theft offenses to misdemeanors and created a process for resentencing persons serving felony sentences for those offenses (§ 1170.18).
