Daniel E. Bratt, Frank Cooke, Ray Marin, Ishmael S. Moran, Jr., Billy W. Pugh, Russell Turner, James Blaydes, and Tyrone Allain (Employees) appeal the district court’s decision refusing to award them liquidated damages on their claim under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA or the Act), specifically 29 U.S.C. § 216(b) (1982). The County of Los Angeles (County) cross-appeals the district court’s award of overtime wages, interest, and attorneys’ fees in favor of the Employees on this claim.
