GEORGE W. LATIMER, Judge:

The accused pleaded guilty to being absent without leave and not guilty of wrongfully using heroin, in contravention of Articles 86 and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 886 and 934, respectively. He was, however, convicted of both offenses, and sentenced to be separated from the service with a bad-conduct discharge, to forfeit all pay and allowances, to be confined at hard labor for two years, and to be reduced to the grade of steward recruit.
