On July 9, 1993, the plaintiffs, Richard Medeiros (hereinafter “Medeiros”) and David McCarron (hereinafter “McCarron”) were struck by cast iron ductile pipe while traveling in a pickup truck on Whitman Street in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
