OPINION

SHERRY RADACK, Chief Justice.

In this original proceeding, Relator Jay H. Cohen seeks relief from two trial court orders 1 expunging lis pendens on three properties. We conditionally grant his petition for writ of mandamus.

BACKGROUND

The underlying suit involves claims related to several parcels of real property in Houston. Because a complete recitation of the facts surrounding the underlying dispute is not necessary for our disposition, we limit our discussion to only the facts relevant to this original proceeding.
