Plaintiff Peter J. Bernard filed a complaint asserting causes of action under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), 29 U.S.C. § 621 et seq., as amended, and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, 43 P.S. § 961 et seq., together with claims based on the common law torts of intentional infliction of emotional distress, see Restatement (2d) of Torts, § 46(1), and breach of the duty of good faith in a contractual relationship.
