This case is before us on a writ of error brought by the named plaintiff in error, Allstate Insurance Company (plaintiff),1 the insurer of the defen*523dant in the underlying action, seeking reversal of an order of the trial court, Mottolese, J., the defendant in error (trial court), imposing sanctions against the plaintiff pursuant to Practice Book § 14-13.
