STRINGER, Justice.

Respondent Stewart Lindberg, as trustee for the heirs of Lukas Stewart Lind-berg, commenced this medical malpractice action against appellants Health Partners, Inc., Group Health Plan, Inc., Sharon Nichols, Donne Mathiowitz, Dr. Ann L. Megas, and GeorgeAnne Del Giudice1 alleging negligence in failing to instruct his pregnant wife Debra Lindberg to be seen immediately by a physician for examination and treatment and that the alleged negligence caused the stillbirth of Lukas Stewart Lindberg, the decedent.
