After years of domestic abuse culminated in a heated verbal and physical attack, Lee Goodman’s wife obtained a protection order against him and the State filed harassment and assault charges. A few months later, while released on bail, Goodman returned to his wife’s home and burned it down, killing her pet dog, Jazz. Goodman pleaded guilty to first degree arson, residential burglary, violating a protection order, and killing a pet. The sentencing court imposed an exceptional sentence of 360 months.
