This is an appeal by the defendants, upon the judgment-roll and a bill of exceptions, from the final judgment in favor of the plaintiff, in an action at law to recover a deficiency judgment in the sum of $28,474.83, claimed to be the balance due the plaintiff on a promissory note executed by the defendants, after crediting upon the note the proceeds of a sale by the trustees under a trust deed given as security for the payment .of the note.
