Appellees, 35 Deputy United States Marshals, brought this class action in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, asserting various claims concerning their overtime compensation. 1 The district court held, inter alia, (1) that appellees were entitled to be paid overtime pay under 5 U.S.C. § 5542 for a portion of the hours for which they had been paid administratively unscheduled overtime under 5 U.S.C. § 5545(c)(2), (2) that the formula used for computing the amount of appellees’ overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act 2 violated…
