¶ 1 The Honorable Kathryn Streeter Lewis (Lewis) appeals the trial court’s order granting summary judgment in favor of defendants Philadelphia Newspapers, Inc., and Dan Geringer (collectively “PNI”). Lewis, who sued the defendants for defamation, asserts that the trial court erred in granting judgment because it faded to consider a “provably false” statement PNI made in the first of three articles Geringer wrote that appeared in the Philadelphia Daily News. Upon review, we conclude that the statement in question does not establish grounds for a claim of defamation by a public official.…
