On the 4th day of December, 1967, the appellant Ludvik A. Matyas was walking to the branch office of the Suburban Trust Company, located in a shopping center in College Park, Maryland, for the purpose of cashing a check. At the time there was an accumulation of snow of some four days standing. The appellant was on a public sidewalk abutting the north side of the bank as he approached the shopping center property.
